Amusement Parks
A large open space where an entire family can bond together with the help of a rollercoaster, My Fair Lady or a Columbus, is called an amusement park. Delhi has several amusement parks. Amusement parks provide you with fun and frolic to help you revitalize one from his/her stress and weariness. One can go to these parks in Delhi either with your family or your friends. Some of the theme parks in Delhi are owned by Government while some of them are privately owned.

Earlier there were three amusement parks in Delhi but Appu Ghar has been closed down due to a developmental project in that area. The Delhi residents gave their first amusement park a tearful farewell with over 2 million people turning up on the last day of the park. Appu Ghar had a mini Disneyland and organized Ice games in winters. It is expected to open up soon enough at NOIDA, a 30 minute drive from East Delhi.

Fun n Food Village
Fun n Food Village is located on the Old Delhi-Gurgaon highway, only three kms away from the Indira Gandhi International Airport. It is essentially a water park but with some terrestrial rides. The park was inaugurated in 1993 by former Indian president Giani Zail Singh. The last name of the park is village because it is decorated in traditional Indian Style with lots of crafts work. Regular cultural activities like traditional folk dances and dramas from different parts of the country are organized here.

The Village also houses an indoor 'Snow Park' covering an area of around 2500 m2. The theme park consists of 21 amusement rides, 22 water slides, kids' water play area and many more. It also organizes rain dance in summer attracting lots of young people wanting to beat the sweltering heat. The fun rides at Fun 'N' Food are the Mono Rail, Flying Carpet and Aqua Pool, but the star attraction remains the Wave Pool, the largest amongst all the water parks in Delhi.

Entertainment City

Entertainment City, situated in NOIDA bang opposite the Centerstage Mall, was opened to public in January 2007. It is supposed to be the first theme park made with international standards spread over an area of about 145 acres. This 30 ride park has been divided into three sections-Kids section, teenagers section and family section. It is housed in the "The Great India Mall", a trade and leisure complex.
