Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary
The Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary was established by internationally celebrated ornithologist Dr Salim Ali in 1971. This 359 acres park includes lots of shallow water bodies, green cover and marshes. All these 'ingredients' spell a successful home for birds and other small animals in the area. This park is perfect for amateur bird watchers and in 1991 Mr. Peter Jackson convinced then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to convert the reserve into a sanctuary so as to provide protection to the flora and fauna of the area. sultanpur-bird-sanctuary
Location
The Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary is located in the Gurgaon district of Haryana, about 15 kms from Gurgaon - Farukh Nagar Road and 50 kms from Delhi.

The plant life of this sanctuary ranges between tropical and dry-deciduous. The flora includes many types of grasses including Savannah, Anogeissus pendula (Dhok), Acacia catechu (Khair), Diospyros melanoxylon Roxb (Tendu), Ziziphus mauritiana (Ber), Syzygium cumini (Jamun), Acacia, and Banyan tree.
